– Jam 0: Paper Jam 0 occurs in the paper feeding of the printer

– Jam 2: Jam 2 occurts if paper is jammed in front of or inside the fuser (exit area)
In the printing process, the paper will be pass printing the latter stages to finish a print:
1. After receiving a print command, the printer will be feeds paper from the paper feeder tray as required.
2. Then, the paper passes the paper feed sensor.
3. When passed the paper feed sensor, the paper will be passed the toner cartridge, fuser unit, and then moves to paper exit sensor.
4. The paper then passes through the paper exit sensor and go out of the printer, complete the printing process.

I. Paper Jam 0

Error location: Jam at paper feeder input tray (Tray 1 or manual tray)

Cause of error “Jam 0”:

– Paper feeds ware wrinkled
– Paper feeds too thick or too thin.
– Pick-up roller on the paper input tray has worn, torn or dirty.
– Feed sensor error, break or stuck
– The solenoid does not work properly.

– Turn off the printer.
– Remove all of paper tray and checking the location and finding paper jam or other jam.
– Put paper tray back to printer and then print test page.

Error location: Paper jammed inside printer, in the fuser area or around the tone cartridge.

Cause of error “Jam 1” of Ricoh-JP1030

– May be exit sensor is faulty: It may has trapped or return only slowly due to contamination be toner powder , foreign objects or paper debris.
– The paper feeder are bad quality. It is so wet, too thick or too thin…When print paper will be rolled on the OPC drum.
– Some spring is missing, broken away, damaged or deformed
– Fuser unit are dirty by toner powder, paper debris or faulty heat roller, heat sensor, surface of heat roller has tear.
– The gear of toner cartridge don’t rotate because components of toner cartridge installed incorrect. For example: gears, drum, rollers…

1. Open the toner cartridge cover.
2. Remove the toner cartridge out of printer.
3. Remove paper jam inside printer. May be jam is not paper, it can be foreign objects.
4. Replace the toner cartridge back to printer

– Check all components of toner cartridge and then reassembly it to correctly.

Error location: Paper Jam in exit area (paper jam out put tray)

Cause of error “Paper Jam 2” Ricoh-JP1030

– May be exit sensor has problem.
– The error belongs to SMPS board: voltage is not enough make the fuser unit heat up
– Thrust of the components of the fuser unit is not enough to push the paper going out the printer

1. If the paper jammed is a large portion of the paper can be visible, be careful pull the paper out of printer.
If not, go to next step
2. Open the rear cover
3. Remove the paper jammed and then close cover
